Okies, so I now have the head in my hot little hands!!! Been lapping the valves this after noon.. need to go and get a torque wrench tomorrow and a valve spring compressor

Anyway, head is on glow plugs and injectors are in... fired first pop. just got to bleed the cooling system and see how we go. I have to replace the coolant plug on the top of the head next to the exhaust.. It appears to have been cross threaded on the old head or put in with out anti seeze
bleeding the system up now. should have it going tonight

SupporterI know it's been a while, but how's the Disco going now with the new head?
Noticed a huge difference in get up and go, or only marginal?

Just arrived: 2012 D4 3.0 HSE, the journey begins again ;-).
Gone: 98 Disco 300tdi Auto, and some extras
No difference in anything. Starts, drives, stops with the odd turn.
It is definately running better, but that could be the new injectors as well.
