Fuse no 8 keeps blowing?
For some strange reason, I keep blowing fuse no 8 under the dash of my Disco.
Its the one that does the interior dash lights, some rear lights.
Its usually a 10 amp fuse and I in my infinate wisdom replaced it with a 15 amp and still blows, so of course I ran out of 15's and put a 20 in and yet again it went.
It's not immediate but after roughly 4-8 weeks.
Sometimes lights are fine for ages and than they go justout of the blue.
Any-one had such experiences or better still an explanation.
The previous owner had told me about it and had it looked at but no-one could find the problem.
Cheers

In my experience trailer plug wiring is often the culprit for strange electrical faults. Well worth your time to check.

hi I am the aforementioned previous owner and I don't think it is trailer wiring because it was doing it before I had the towbar put on.
It's not uncommon problem, if you go back through the threads. I reckon its a shorting bulb or bulb holder somewhere.

Trick time: If you can't isolate the fault, wire a 100-130 watt halogen globe across where the fuse is supposed to go. Then when your fault occurs you get this huge indicator telling you so. Enough current passes through the cool globe to run a few little globes without trouble. Short circuit it and it only goes to 10 amps.
