As said, you press it. It's mentioned in the owner's manual (could be called fuel cut out).

The last thing you worry/think about about is the complete wrecked Disco you are now leaning against.
Derek, Was that yours I saw in the LROCV mag a few years back - end over?.

I know what timaus13 would say "Get you stuff out of the back (now on roof), get the water boiling, grab a cup and some tea/coffee/sugar, make it, sit down and just chill (assuming one can hold cup without shaking the contents out) and then, once finished cup and pondering, then get to action.

Yeah, it's as funny as all get out seeing somebody drive off after finally getting the car running and, not having learned their lesson about inverting the thing in the first place, only to find they can't slow down for teh first corner they come to and do it all over again.
    THAT never gets old!

    I just turned the key.
Would have preferred to wait a while for fluids to settle in their proper place but needed the power steering to assist in recovery.
It fired on the second or third crank, and emitted quite a smoke screen at start-up but no lasting ill-effects, and I drove it over 80km to get home. (I did test the brakes for quite some time and took it easy for the first 20km or so.)

A fellow club member rolled his 300Tdi D1 on the Oodnadatta track.
Started it up and bent a rod as oil had seeped down into the combustion chamber of one cylinder.

Seeing the car was a write off, he was not too distressed but whoever bought the wreck may have not been happy.

Just remember you cant compress a liquid with a starter motor. If there is oil or water in the combustion chamber you will bend something if it is on compression stroke.
