DRIVELINE MODS TO RUN 35'S ???

G'day guys just looking for a bit of info.I currently have a 92 disco v8 2 door 2" suspension lift 2.5" bodt lift running 33's on offset rims looking at running a set of 35's . some people are saying to use 4:11 gears in front and rear diffs?
    others saying change transfer gears?
any one got some ideas on compensating for the larger diametre tyres ???

    cheers

fit the later diffs and axles or at least recenter the rear with a locker and maxis and go the 4.11 diffs

Do you have lockers already? a good option is Hilux conversion, source axles from either Jacmac or rovertracks, atleast that way you get 4.11 ratios, decent axles, can fit lockers at a later date

I wouldn't put new 4.11's in on strandard centres as WHEN you lunch a centre, you risk destroying your expensive gearset

Heaps stronger, very easy conversion, will be easier to search for some threads than relay the info again

    I've done a couple now

Search for hilux diff centre converion on here and outerlimits, I'd dig them up, but past this little girls bedtime now

Another option if you want to use Toy diffs is to run the current model ARB locker which will allow you to also run Rover sides, which means that you can continue to use standard aftermarket Rover axles etc.

It depends on how hard you want to use it though. Most just run lockers, HD axles and CV's. If you run 35's all of the time then run 4.11 gears in the diffs. If you run small road tyres and big offroad tyres then put crawler gears into the transfer. The problem with running a Defender transfer case is that despite high range being geared to suit 32" tyres, the low range is exactly the same between the Defender and the Discovery - and it will be crap with a manual gearbox.
