    Airlockers

    so i picked up a pair of s/h lockers and compressors, switches etc. i have TD5 with SLS rear and ABS/traction control that all works good. considering whether i should fit both lockers, or just the rear and sell off the front locker seperate. am i right in that the front locker can be put into the rear of another disco if the flange is changed over ?

    Assume you have CDL????.....if not best to do that in conjunction with your rear locker.

    yes, have cdl, so thinking just that and the rear locker will be a good combo

    I have a Disco 1 and maxi rear.
    Makes a big difference when engaged.

    When turning, the rears just drag each other around, good way of telling they are working.
    Twin be good but imagine how deep in the poo you can get with two.
    You will never get out if ever bogged.

    You can get out of a twin locked bog ok.

    I'd get the installer to check them both, it wont be too big a deal, probably just any seals. Install them both, If you've already got the locker then its not much more to get it put in rather than selling it off cheaply.

    Yes I am sure you can get out of a twin locked bog, I am sure. Was meant more tongue and cheek.

    Depending on what the lockers owe you and your financial situation, the decision may be different.
    I too would probably install both if money not an issue.

    Just that I have just one and I am very happy with that.

    got em reasonably priced for the pair with compressor and switches etc. not so much worried about the financial side, more conveniance. i dont do heaps of "offroading", this is more of a safety thing for if i do get stuck going up the old telegraph road etc, rather than for going mud slinging. i will be installing the rear myself as they are complete centres with cw&p installed. wont be a hard install at all . espec the rear will be simple. front more time consuming but still ok to do myself. just not sure i will really need it and if its not needed, someone else might "REALLY NEED" it.

    I would like 2 myself (front and rear) but if im honest, with a D2 with a CDL fitted + TC and a Rear locker, your always going to have 3 wheel drive, be pretty extreme stuff to need a front locker "imo"........I will be fitting a rear only, dont want to make the TC redundant, it has to "earn" its place on the truck !!
