Does anyone have a TD5 auto that doesn't love to vibrate around 2200 RPM

I have had 3 & they all did it......

In fact, drove the Puma the other day & i couldn't believe how smooth the engine is compared to the TD5 in the D2.

Mine runs as smooth as a Singer sewing machine through 2200 rpm. Keep your foot flat to the floor and have your auto in sport mode(and a power chip), you'll be amazed how smooth the motor runs on full throttle.

still trying to locate the source of the vibration at 2200 rpm .
gunna take the engine pipe off and replace the flex pipe ,if that don't fix it ,new engine mounts may be the go .
    Cheers
Welcome to the TD5.....do a search for a thread called "Ultimate TD5 Vibration....." something like that.

The vibration is an engine harmonic. You can reduce how much of it you feel, via the flex pipe and engine mounts.....but it doesnt go away.

    They do,but MUCH less noticable.
The manual has a Dual Mass Flywheel. Its a harmonic balancer built into the flywheel.Just replaced my flywheel, its a HEAP smoother when revving it in neutral.
All the newer diesels now run the same type of flywheel.

New engine mounts suppress the vibrations for a while but it comes back had mine done 40,000 kms ago and its back and the mounts are fluid filled mounts I don't think the fluid stays in there long.
    cheers mark
