mmmm,
thats interesting. I better have a closer look at the CD for my 01' Disco 2.
I was under the impression only the base was heated???
My driver side is dead and I would like to replace/fix it, but until my MANY other issues that seem to keep coming up weekly are fixed - thank baby jesus for statutory warranties (its been getting a hiding!) - I havent looked too hard for a fix.
Whats the 'word' - repair or replace?
D.I.Y?

yep, got the lumbar support - just pull/push the seatback adjuster vertically up or down.
Good thing reading the owners manual hey?
I would like to pull the element out and see if it can be fixed first, but unless there is an easy way to put the seat back together and then repeat the step, it might have to suffice with a new one. Gotta do some shopping - sounds like OS might be a fair bit cheaper?

RAVE shows two elements back and seat. Mine definitely only has seat warming - very nice it is too.

And now the $64 question is: can seats that have never been heated have the elements installed?![]()
I would think it would be possible for sure - just a question of how much money you are prepared to part with?
How original you want it to look (switch panel is with the electric windows)
A good auto elec or LR specialist (who knows, might be like a falcodore where the wiring is already there???)
and how desperately you need a warm butt![]()
I keep reading that people using the driver side recon its too hot and dont use it, but I'd just use it to warm it up before you get in, especially in winter - just depends how soft you are I guess![]()
I'm sure I read on here somewhere that some Disco models that don't have heated seats actually have the elements and wiring in the seat- just not connected. Might be worth a search....
