High capacity oil sump for LT230.

    G'day all.
Just fitted a high capacity oil sump to the transfer case on my 04 TD5 Classic manual. It also is finned for better heat dispersion. It holds an extra 800ml of oil. I splashed out and filled it with Castrol SynTrax 75W/90 fully synthetic gear oil. At $31 for 1 litre, I hope it is beneficial. Now my transfer should be a lot happier.
    Regards
    Robbo.

Sounds good. Do you have any pics?

Also, just out of curiosity - why the extra oil?
    Cheers

Slunnie, I'll try to upload some pics shortly. The extra volume of oil absorbs more heat therefor box will run cooler. Added benefit of cooling fins also.

So it goes longer between top ups when it leaks

    Sorry,couldn't help myself...

In theory, should now go longer between oil changes, particularly when using syntrax

Both the Rocky Mountain and Africaland sump covers are shown and discussed in this thread here LT85 Santana 5 speed & LT230
and FWIW there are Australian suppliers, (Rocky Mountain) mentioned near the end of the tread.

{edit} as usual, the 110/Defender mob is really on top of the techo stuff
