Thats an interesting point I had my oil feed of a while ago as well when doing the water pump, so you could be onto something there.

Nope it's making noise again!

My centrifuge filter has made the wind down noise from new. I have used genuine and non genuine filters and have had mixed results. As far as I'm concerned, if it does not make a noise winding down after shutdown, it is not spinning therefor not working. So noise on shut down is good.
