Oil in your injector harness?

Is your hand brake causing the vibration in that rev range?
Pull the hand brake on hard, then rev up to where you expect the vibration if it stops you have bad engine mounts or Gbox mounts?
Get some one to rev it up while you put your hand on the backing plate for the hand brake, it seems all the engine shakes get focused here.

Checked the wiring loom for "Oil in the harness" ?

How ever things don't look good. The disco 2 TD5 has developed a slightly rough idle and bad vibration when reving at 1800 to 2000 revs. This happens when when the motor is cold and the vehicle is in neutral. Both are still slightly there when hot. Previously, if you put it in gear and took it up to 1800 rpm the vibration disappeared. How ever this morning tested it again and it sounded as though it was missing on two cylinders and going to collapse in a heap. Funny thing was no black smoke.
Have checked the mounts ,replaced the fan as the original was U.S., checked the injectors with Nanny and all appear okay.

Has have any of the grurus a sugestion or two.

Went out this morning and used Nanny again. This time the problem showed up. Number 5 injector!! Why it didn't show up last time your guess is as good as mine. S/exchange injector, problem solvered.

Hooray looks like we are off on Saturday.

Well you know what thought thought!
Started the beast this morning and the idle was rough again. Took the revs upand bugger me the shake was back!!@#@$%^ .

Been thinking would a out of balance Torque Converter also cause this?

Check that theres no oil at the crank angle sensor, just on the the bell housing at ten o'clock. Caused all sorts of dramas with mine.

As i posted earlier on this page.
The backing plate on the hand brake is where all the noise comes from on mine.
I have replaced the engine mounts ($260!!) one mount was bottomed out.
This did not remove the vibration but it did move it down the REV range about 150 rpm so now it is even more annoying.
What i have noticed is that there is a lot of wear (from the vibration) inside the brake arrangement springs shoes etc.
I am ordering some parts to try and sort this problem out by removing worn parts which seem to have a tendency to rattle more.
And rattle is the way i would describe the sound more so than a vibration.
