Unfortunately I don't think he would see it that way and to be honest it's not something I could 'really' ask him to do knowing how much time & money he has put into that damn thing if crunch came to crunch - the boys got to atleast have ONE toy....but equally just as I am not prepared to sell my D2 - a girls gotta have her toys too. I just don't see myself driving a tarago *gasp*...

As for the pram, we have a double mountain buggy so its just the one pram, but a large one, selling and going to a smaller one not a problem.... we have a hiking backpack that one of the kids can sit in and slings that I put the youngest one in too so lots of different options to go out with them... it's just getting out with them LOL...

i'm exhausting the avenue of LR seats for the rear now as this will be the best option moving forward for us....

    Talking woot woot!

    Hi everyone...
just wanted to update as this has been an ongoing saga for me for quite some months....

great news on my part - my brother has sourced an original pair of landrover seats in kit form suited for my 02D2 (headrests come down from roof) & same interior colour. If I could do backflips in my current state, I would LOL - you have no idea how happy I am!!

The only downside is that in my current state I won't be able to clamber in the back and install these myself so suffice to say will have to resort to hubby doing this and probably parting with a few beers for him in the process.

Not too sure what's required and how much faffing around there is (already have the pictures printed from the rave cd) but I may have some questions that might get posted to this thread re installation if he encounters any problems (but i'll do a search first). They should be going in over the weekend / early next week in-between family commitments :-).... hopefully tho my next post with be a picture :-)

    Cheers,
    Lp

    Hello,
It's coming from a wreckers who deal in LRs, I did speak with them and they confirmed it was the "entire kit" ... however.... if you have a list handy that would be great as I can be pedantic and confirm it all with them tomorrow :-)

    Thaaaaaaanks!!

    hmm,
two head rests and bolts and replacement roof panel.

two seatbelts with bolts, there is a small plastic half moon liner to go in the rear pillar, you may have to cut the panel to suit,

    what else,,
    anyone?

Thanks for the replies, esp Jeff !!

I was wondering, if someone would be able to please upload some pictures more of whats already been done where to aid with installation:

    1. top pillar where seatbelt comes through (i've got the photo for reference that was posted on pg 2 for the bottom seatbelt)

Q - would I need to alter my existing trim or should it be supplied already altered from them?

    2. picture of floor where seat locks into position (without the seat locked in!)

Q - would any holes need to be drilled given it's a 5 seater or would they exist already in the floor?

    3. roof lining where headrests come down.

Q - do folk actually install these as I think they may be a bit of a black spot?

    4. the 1/2 moon liner that Pedro was on about

Q when you mention it may need to be cut out to suit, exactly what section generally needs to be cut out?

    5. Any other photos that may aid hubby in having these installed...

I understand a bit of a big ask, but I would be forever grateful :-)

    Thanks,
    Lp

Q1- thats all one big bit of panel,
There is/was a post on its removal somewhere in here, and you will need to remove it,,
Q2- sorry I dont have my D2 atm,, though the RAVE cd may help there--
    oops , thanks carpoint

Q3- have to be installed, I would think-- they only create a problem when used,,
Q4-- again the RAVE cd would show this, the belt reels are bolted into the floor behind the rear panel, the belts run up inside the panel and through a runner(bolted behind rear panel) then exit at shoulder height to be bolted to the floor-
you can just see it here--

not ever owning a 5 seater I cant tell you if those floor mounts are there or not,

Thanks Pedro for the reply, and yes silly me should have thought of carpoint or a carsale site LOL! Thanks very much for doing that - good one :-)

The Rave CD has lots of pictures i'll need to study that closer w/ hubby - just couldn't make sense of it - his head may be in a better space than mine hahah

    Thanks again,

The news just gets better LOL

    ....

Just spoke with the wrecker and he said that there was in excess of 60 items and that it was the 'full kit' warranted as though you'd be receiving it from Landrover (when they were selling them in kit form).

I did query him about whether i'd be receiving any trims and was told that all the components that would make up a 7 seater installation are being shipped to me.... so of the trims - they will be all be pre-cut so fingers crossed maybe just a straight swap...and not too much faffing around for hubby.... :-)

I'm intrigued now, will have to study those pictures in the rave cd!! LOL

    Cheers,
    Lp
