blue screen of death.... wifes 'look of death' @ husband = same IMO hahaha.... it's different when the shoe is on the other foot tho as I told hubby last night he should get rid of his restored FJ40 and get a decent 4wd!!

I think i'd still like to see if we can use these seats from my dad as they really are the same concept as the landrover ones. We have access to people who can make what ever is required to get these fitted so thats not a problem for us.

As for headrests, VICRoads have stated that it's optional. As our eldest/s will be in their own seats I think they come with their own head rests anyway.

I think I just need to look into the different trimmings where the paniers go, but even then i'm still not sure whether I need to go that far as the seats won't be folding up to the side anytime soon either....

    cheers,
    Lp

"DL2H" (dont laugh too hard) - wonder if that's one - you could be the 1st to have invented that :-p !!

As for the cruiser seats kids butts will be on those but CHRIST there is no room for anything once in!! Is this the case with a standard 7 seater - bit disappointing really... :-(

Looks like it will be an interesting journey sorting this one out as I don't think the cruiser seats are a go-er (as others have pointed out :-)). 2500K of 'under the bonnet' work needs doing as a priority and until then I think it will be 3 kids in Lp and one in the FJ40 w/ dad :-/ ...

Many thanks to everyone who took the time and effort to reply to this thread. I'll revisit it once I have figured out what the hec I will do as I don't want to be taking 2 trucks everwhere we go for ever :-)

    Cheers,
    Lp

    Just a tiny tad more.

There would be about 6 inches behind the seats and about 12 inches between the two seats so not much. Doing a trip with 7 on board means stuff stashed just about every where ,under the kids feet and a roof rack!

All the best with your plans.

Looked up DL2H and can't find an acronym listing for it anywhere so we may have an AULRO first.

    LP....

As much as it pains me to say this and probably for you to hear this.... With four kids, you'll struggle for space even in a 7 seater Disco.

Get yourself a Tarago. Time for a Bus.

    Hahaha!

    They aren't???

Playing devil's advocate here but four kids in the back, two prams, almost zero boot space.... Doesn't really add up.

LP, you might be on the right track in saying to your better half to get rid of the FJ40 in exchange for something more family friendly. Then you get to keep the D2.
