Not in the spirit of the forum If we didn't. I think we can get at least another 5 - 10 repsonse which add no value. Here's 1 of the 5 - 10.

In all honesty I'm just waiting for a second branch to develop and have at least two topics on the original thread which have no relationship to the original question.

The P38A housing has studs with a head (not unlike a wheel stud) which I assume are splined. They are pressed (or probably drawn) through the holes in the housing from the inside. The diff carrier fits over these and nuts follow.

These studs are too short to allow fitting of the QT diff guard.

Microcat shows the P38A uses the studs threaded at both ends.
In my experience, both the RRC & D1 use the same studs as you've described for the P38.

When I changed my RR from a 10 spline diff to a 24 spline, I had to change 4 (or was it 2?) studs over from the D1 housing. RR & D1 were both knock out type studs.
