Since you're making new hoses they can cut them open and see how many layers of reinforcing there is in there. Outer braid depends on the liner of the hose as to whether it's structural or not. Teflon lined hose as you'd see with the typical fittings needs the outer braid to support it as there's no embedded reinforcement. Rubber based hoses have these embedded layers so any braid is cosmetic.
The problem will be Enzed cant make teflon core hose up with fittings so I'm going to have to use braided/rubber sheath hose. I'll be driving the Disco up until the day I'm leaving so I cant really take them out and cut them until then.Quote:

The material for the hose is irrelevant as long as it's rated for the pressure. I wouldn't worry about the braid over the rubber either as they can't run the braid under the crimp (it effects the integrity of the sleeve's grip on the hose). I really doubt that they are teflon, one way to know is to see how flexible they are. But I can't really feel that from here.
Well I can answer this one.
Std hydraulic hose will suffice, the hose is not ptfe cored and the hose is just boring old hydraulic line.

I dont really care if it's just rubber on the out side of the hose. While I appreciate that the stainless braid looks cool, I bought the shocks becasue that work well, not because of the look.
I just want to get the reservior out of the engine bay and away from the heat. I'm going to mount then inside the inner guards with the hydraulic hose clamps previously recommended.
