    Hawkeye In Southern Tablelands

After having on going issues with the amigo's over a period of many months I finally got sick of driving to Sydney to get them reset so I have just brought a Hawkeye so I can clear the faults myself.
I believe unlike the Nanocom these units work on both diesels and V8's so if any Aulro member in the Goulburn / Southern Tablelands area has a D2 with any of the usual issues I am only to happy to assist.

    cheers,
    Terry

Nice to know when I'm up that way.

Mine have appeared thrice and not returned for two years, but you never know....

At the risk of hijacking this post, how does the Hawkeye compare with the Nannocom? Features, prices?

As for features of the Hawkeye versus the Nanocom I have no idea, I think they do nearly everything the same but someone else would know better. I do know from experience that the Nanocom which works well for a TD5 won't reset a V8's faults, but the Hawkeye does both.

To me the best thing about the Hawkeye is that you can put in other software programs for other models, one day I'll have either a D3 or D4 and the Hawkeye can be upgraded to have the settings for those models as well as for the D2 so I can use the same unit for future Landy's I buy.

I don't know if you can do that with a Nanocom or not.

As for price I paid I believe RRP which was a very expensive $600 for the unit but I just wanted it straight away so I didn't shop around.

Again if anyone in the southern tablelands needs to clear the faults on their D2 I'm happy to assist.

    cheers,
    Terry

    Hi Terry,

Does the Hawkeye allow you to download/upload ECU maps? I've been checking out the new Nanocom, Faultmate and Hawkeye and reading the spec for the Hawkeye, I'm not sure if it can do it.

    cheers

    Hi,

Sorry to say that Hawkeye can't do ECU or fueling maps at all. Will read and program injectors, throttle pots. When you get your code for a D2 it will do both TD5's and V8's. So there is one in Mt Waverley, Melbourne if needed by others.

I knew that before I bought one and think it's a great piece of gear. Landed it here posted from the UK via airmail for $430 including postage from Paddock Spares. Good guys to deal with.

So far I know that my TD5 intermittent engine problems are not fuel temp, MAF, MAP, AAP, injector/cylinder balance, EGR systems, relays. Good news that all my sensors are within spec. Only wish that LR had put in a fuel pressure sensor that could be read...
