Started using 2SO in my previous D2 Td5 Auto - made the gearchanges much smoother.

Since then I have been using 2SO in SWAMBO's Audi A3 TDi and since Day1 in my Puma as well.

1:200 ratio seems to be the optimum mix.

I was talking to a Cummins mechanic and he said the new ULS diesel was ripping the guts out of injection systems ,especially on newer engines!,thats why in Europe all(or most) dino diesel is blended with 5% bio-diesel to restore lubricity. There is a good test done by some lab in the US about fuel additives(can't remember where I saw it),some actually made the fuel worse, but just 1% biodiesel was slightly better than the best fuel additive,I'm sure if you Goggle it you'find it!

DO NOT use lawn mower? I have valvolene, castrol[for outboard boat motor] is this OK? I have used a moreys product, with no real noticable diff., what is the problem with the mower stuff?
Good to hear you have similar results to me...

On my D2 i am saving around 2L/100km... in the city by just the oil...

the older the diesel is the bigger difference you will feel...

the new diesel engines (common rail) you will find that on cold start up it will be quieter but apart from that there is near no difference... in preformance and fuel economy

You should be using JASO FC 2 Stroke Oil semi synthetic not full synthetic as it doesnt blend well with diesel... (great resutls with Penrite, Valvoline Motorbike Oil, and Castrol) dont use lawn mower 2stroke oil

    Cheers

You need to use the following 2stroke standards

JASO FC – lubricity and initial torque requirements same as FB, however far higher detergency, exhaust smoke and exhaust system blocking requirements over FB.

JASO FD - same as FC with far higher detergency requirement.

    Mineral or Semi Synthetic

(lawn mower 2stroke oil has the potential to clog up the turbo exhaust compressor fins)
