    D2 120K Service

    G'Day All,

I'm abaout to do a 120K service and have got my mind around what needs to be done.

For the life of me, I can't find the Brake Fluid capacity in Rave - how much fluid do I need to buy?

I also have no idea how to renew the brake fluid. Do I bleed every corner manually? I have a Nanocom and have heard of a power bleed - anywhere I can find some more info on this feature?

Thanks for your help with the above.

    Cheers,

    Franz

    Hi Franz,

I'm going to do this when I change the brake hoses to new extended & braided items. I'm going to buy a few litres or so and just bleed each corner manually till I get clean fluid.

Interesting that all the how-to's I've come across say to start at the corner furthest from the reservoir RAVE says FL, FR, RL, RR.

    cheers, John

    Hey Pedro,

I did actually look there but did not find anything that clearly told me how to do it - maybe I did'nt look hard enough?

    Cheers,

    Franz

Hey Franz, search for 'brake'. Reference to bridging the ABS relay to work the shuttle valves. Presumably that will release any bubbles upstream of the modulator as mentioned in Rave. Can you do this with your Nanocom as well? Still when it comes to actually changing the fluid the old fashioned manual bleed will work.

Knew I'd seen something on discoweb.org a while back. Just found it again

Re: DII ABS brake bleeding without Testbook
Another way to do it, is make up 2 leads with flat spade connectors on each end, connect a switch in the middle, remove the ABS relay and "bridge" the 2 terminals for the switched side of the relay, then flick the switch when you want the pump to run to push as much fluid out as you want / need. If you make the "fly leads" long enough, you can even lay by each wheel and open the nipple / flick the switch all by yourself, no need for any help.

    Search Function

    Franz

You are not alone for the record.

Also typed in 'power bleed' and returned nothing. (search function?), Also typed it in as PTS's example and returned nothing.

Just type in Brakes and you should be able to find it from there. Its was prepared by the PTS. Or even less painful just click on the following link. Only if more people did this more often.

    http://www.aulro.com/afvb/good-oil/3...ghlight=brakes

    Regards
    Andrew

P.S. Yes it's in the Good Oil, where else
