Front diff oil seal
Heard the dreaded chirping noise in time with the prop shaft rotation today and sure enough the universal joint has clapped out in the front of the DC joint so will try and sort that all out tomorrow. Notice that the pinion shaft oil seal is leaking in the front diff and figure best to fix it while the shaft is out. I presume it is just a case of removing the flange to get to it ? Any tips appreciated.

Yes it is.
1. Remove front shaft
2. unbolt flange
3. Remove flange
4. Prise out seal
5. fit new seal
6. Refit
You shouldn't even have to drain the oil, although you may lose a little bit

Yep normal right hand thread
Big breaker bar, or impact wrench will crack it
