Yep, strange that. It just happened to me last week, and that was with the unit working as my front window regulator motor. i.e in the original application.:o It doesn't last in the door and probably won't as a CDL actuator...

I have installed the Ashcroft CDL and am very happy with it.

Don't go near the amv electronic actuator, mine lasted 3-4 months before it seized and held pressure on the cdl fork in the transfer case causing transfer failure.... Mine was purchased from amv new and fitted by alto Newcastle when the geaRbox was being swapped under warranty, after I got it sorted I fitted a d2a factory lever myself and never had a problem again.

If you are interested I can outline what I did. It is a cable operated CDL that installs down on the drivers side footwell (opposite to where the bonnet catch sits on the passenger side). Works a charm and costs so much less.

Baz has seen it in action. Not factory but for the price it works perfectly.

Let me know and I can post up some pics etc. I was thinking of actually doing up a kit and selling them :-)

Yes, it is the front left (passenger side) Disco 2 window winder motor.

I have the Ashcroft fitted, all you do is move the lever across to lock the diff-how much easier can that be?

got me thinking of 2 bonnet release cables parrallel attached to a bracket under the dash, pull one to engage and pull the other to disengauge, a plate attached to the diff lock pin and the cables on attached on opposing sides
could be simple and a neat job made of it me thinks
