    Quick wiper question

First time driving the girl in the rain!

Wipers on intermittent. Rain gets heavier, so switch to low speed continuous. Is it normal for:

    1. The wipers to wait stationary until what would have been the next intermittent cycle, then wipe on low speed or
    2. Commence low speed wiping immediately.

They are doing 1, and as I had the intermittent with quite a long pause, it seemed to me for a while that the continuous wiper modes were not working.

Depends where in its timed cycle it was....

It is normal for 2. to happen (at least for me).
I recall a post on a similar issue, where the wiper switch module had to be replaced eventually, or contacts cleaned, or something.
    Sorry for being so vague.
Anyway, the issue was with the switch.

Mine used to do this, the problem got worse as time went on, so much so that it really became dangerous as to how long the wipers took to start.

I ended up drilling a small hole in the back of the switch and squirting contact cleaner in there...... that didn't work

Ended up replacing the switch. Just be aware that you can't just buy the wiper switch, you have to replace both the wiper and lights stalk as they are on a common mount around the steering column. You also need to remove the airbag to get the wheel off to get the original off....

I know an old lady who swallowed a fly.............
