Are the side wings bolted onto the centre section? Just wondering as it would be a very easy repair system if it is.
Sorry to hound, do they have their own replacement mounts or do they use the original crush cans?
No need to use your crush cans they come with all the mounts. They take about 1/2 hour to an hour to fit depending on what you have to remove first. They look awesome and have attachment points for recovery hooks
Only down fall i found was somewhere to attach your rego plate. And i have to modify my grill to clear the winch control box.
cheers
Nicho
Reason I'm so surious is that I've made a custom winch cradle that fits behind the original plastic bar and mounts direct to the chassis behind the crush cans. Took it to two engineers to check for requirements and they both said that because it was behind the line of the cans it was fine. Since someone took out one corner of the bar I've been planning to extend it across basically in the same way except I hadn't seen an Xrox prior to now.
So the winch mounts to the Xrox bar which bolts to the cans? How much strength is in the cans do you suppose? I only ask because they only seem to have a few rivets holding them together that look like they shear in compression.
I found a good light so i got you a basic side on pic and the fitting instructions hope these help you a bit.
Sorry, I misread the post above and thought it said it mounted to original cans not replacement cans. Still, curious to know if it's wholly the cans supporting the weight of the bar, winch, extras and load of the working winch.
Oh and my mounts are to suit a 50mm body lift so std ones would be slightly different again. They are like a large box at the chassis end and completely cover the chassis rails. It all feel very sturdy. I stood on mine when i fitted it and at about 100kgs it didnt budge when i bounce up and down on it. I'm very happy with it so far
What area in relation to the pics are the cans? In the first pic is it the silver piece I can just see sticking out above the piece with DC stamped on it?
The item with dc5 stamped on it is the crush can/mount, it bolts to the chassis completly encassing it. total of 6 bolts including 2 for the chassis mounting bolts
