Praise be to the D2a!!! We are not worthy!!!
And because of the claimed superiority of V8 manual's it would be logical to split the existing d2 forum into D2 and D2a with sub-forums:

    D2a
    - V8
    -- Manual
    -- Auto
    - TD5
    -- Manual
    -- Auto

    D2
    - V8
    -- Manual
    -- Auto
    - TD5
    -- Manual
    -- Auto

This should adequately cater for the unique characteristics of each of the very distinct variants. Obviously members should be have their access restricted to the sub forums based on ownership of said variant, to ensure the riff raff don't pollute the D2a forums with irrelevant content. It might be worth considering breaking each down the top level categories (D2a and D2) in to model year and paint colour to further improve the specificity of the discussion.

    I'd like to nominate as mod of the D2 > 2000 > Oxford Blue > TD5 > Auto sub-forum.

    NO dumb idea

Besides the manual section of the D2a section would not be very popular, they WENT soft after the D2

Now why wouldn't that surprise me.....I think my biggest fans reside in the Mod forum....just waiting....like vultures circling a recent kill . Thankfully there are others in the Mod forum who HAVE met me and realise I'm not such a bell end after all .

So it would still seem there is strength in the idea of our own superior D2a section.....if you take out the snide insecure D2 comments and then the pillocks who wouldn't know what comfort and automatic meant in a 4WD.......the consensus and poll results seem very strong. Apologies to the grinch for not having a No in the poll ...nothing like upsetting the elderly .

Appreciate what you are saying Nick....and I do try to not upset the forum fans who like to vicariously live through the loud mouthed opinionated types who frequent the soapbox....read....but never speaky........but that's my work. Outside of the soap box is relax time ........I wouldn't want to become any less popular ,

    Regards

    Stevo

P.S. Seeing a few Megan Gale fans...again another sign of the discerning D2a owner.

P.S.S. Still waiting for a frock and frill panty wearing D2 owner to come up with some constructive criticism. Perhaps google constructive not whiny .

Is that the argument where everything goes up in smoke and mirrors?

I am going to convert my coil springs to leaf and change out my 5 speed manual for a 3 speed manual...frankly I have too much comfort. I am also ditching the air con cause its for girls.

    Cheers

    Name one

Stevo, you upgraded from a D3 to a D2a, natural progression dictates that you will upgrade again to a D2.
Cut out all this 2a foolishness, come out of the closet, and get yourself into a d2.

All this poll/thread is doing is creating more questions.....like

If your 2a is Smokey - does that make you the Bandit?
    WHat type of bandit?

Pretty much, I had to head off for work before I could make a compelling argument that each vehicle sufficiently different from any other that the only reasonable course of action is to set up a sub-forum for each VIN.

I do think there is probably more merit in TD5 and V8 sub forums if only to put an end to myopic V8 owners advising unwary TD5 owners that generic OBD-II scan tools "work real well on D2's".
