    The fronts at 170 lbs will give you a comfortable ride (standard OEM rate is 170 lbs) and I run 180 lbs in my vehicle (with winch, dual battery etc).

    The progressive rate rears were too firm when unladen (I used to run these) and I have since switched to linear springs with a 280 lbs rate. They handle my constant load, are supported with air bags and give me a comfortable on road ride.

    I have the dobinson shocks and springs and it seems to be pretty good set up.
    Initially the springs that were installed were the wrong ones, ie they came in the right box but had the wrong springs in them. I did a trip to the Vic High Country and they were way too soft which made me a bit sus that the springs were not the right ones. After I got home to Adelaide (Largs Bay) I checked out what I had and found out the issue. I swapped them over to heavy springs and it made a heap of difference. I have since been to the Pyrenees and the Flinders on some pretty rough tracks and with a full load they handle nicely.
    I have no doubt that there are better set-ups but for $970 installed last year it was too good to go past. As stated, I am at Largs Bay so if you wanted to have a look drop me a message.

    Hi all. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their advice!

    I ended up going with the EFS elite setup and 2" lift.

    I got 60mm lift at the front (the bullbar had caused the front to sag by 10mm) and a 50mm lift at the rear.

    The ride is so much better than the oem suspension. It handles the corners much better too. Im loving it! The only downside is i can't do my washing in the car anymore . I cant wait to test it out on something a bit more fun than speed bumps

    I wouldn't have a clue. I had it installed as i dont have the knowledge or equipment to do it myself. I dont even know what the front cross member is

    i was advised very strongly that any lift over 40mm requires lowering of the cross member to prevent it possibly contacting the front prop shaft.

    You say you got an effective 50mm lift so i thought i would raise the issue for you to check out.

    Just put a full set on my 2002 TD5 springs and shocks. After looking around and not wanting to spend $1000+ on a set of Bilsteins (yes they are the best). So in the end I went for Kings Springs and Monroe Gas Magnum TDT. To date the best upgrade I've made.

    Britpart do a 2" lift, coil spring conversion kit for D2, including 4 springs, spring plates and Supergaz Dampers for £250. It comes in medium or heavy duty.
