D2 in storage for 5 months- disconnect battery?

Will be O/S for 5 months and storing the D2 in a garage with no use planned. Should I disconnect the battery to prevent it running down and setting off alarms? I presume it will re-sync with keys on my return with a charge. Will I be able to enter the vehicle if no battery to drive the door solenoids?
    Any hints or experiences appreciated.

I just stored my Honda Jazz for 3 months by connecting a 1 amp Charge and Maintain charger and adding POR15 fuel Stabiliser.
    Started first turn.

I would connect a batt charger and lock the car with the key (not button). If you don't have a good one (cheapies will over charge) put a timer on the power point to switch it on for 1 hr/day. Thats what I used to do with our old D2.

You can open the D2 with the key in the drivers door if there is no power

If your radio is coded, make sure you have the recode number handy if you intend to disconnect the battery

disconnect the battery leave the bonnet in the second lock position and the drivers window down (assuming its in a garage) hide the keys somewhere very safe.

check out CTEK chargers. they charge, and maintain a trickle charge which keeps batteries at optimum. I use one on my motorbike and havent had a problem for months.

I have had Series2 Discos here for over 12 months (one for about 15 months) without a battery. They started straight away when installing a battery.

You have more chance of problem with a dead battery in your FOB. Also as already mentioned, be aware of the radio code.
