Land Rover Brand Shocks for D2a
Hi there,
From the 3A0000000 VIN (D2a) model on, there is a different genuine part shock specified to the earlier model.
Earlier models have different shock part numbers for vehicles with or without ACE &/or SLS, giving four options for both front and rear. These shocks sell pretty cheaply, even for genuine parts.
Later models (3A000000- on) have only a single specification for the shocks, regardless of the vehicle having ACE &/or SLS. These shocks sell for about the same price as Bilsteins in the UK (using UK-based web shops as a comparison).
Does anyone know what's changed?
Do the new shocks possess some magic that previously eluded LR when designing the earlier D2's or is it a cost saving exercise, with LR reducing the part numbers?
Are the later shocks monotube designs?
cheers!
