Here are the new modular draws.
They are extra long with no back seats but you can see how they fit ,used only existing LR holes.

Hi Paul. Like Yorkie said. Check the Drifta setup. I have it in my D2a and am extremley pleased with it. Good value for money, carpet covered marine ply, on teflon slides So it doesn't rattle, and doesn't weigh a ton.

    http://www.drifta.com.au

They will custom build/modify whatever you want.

I have the 2x drawers, plus a slide out table, and a fridge drop slide, and the rhs drawer can be replaced with the drifta carback kitchen (or we carry it ontop next to the fridge). The whole setup, including the drop slide, drawers, table & kitchen cost me $2300 (modified per request AND installed). I thin a plain 2x drawer is about $850 (with a slide out table ?) They'll ship anywhere in the country.

Drawer with table above, kitchen on the right

    2 x drawers

    Drop slide & fridge

Kitchen drawer slid out (the kitchen outer case slides out and it's fully stand alone)

Drawer slides out from the left side

And a shot of it in action.

    Cheers,
The Iron man Drawers are made by Black Widow, there the same as Black Widows New Travelmate range. Travelmate starts from $1500 up to $2000 depending on spec, compaired to the Top End Black Widow Drawers that start at $1950.

Both the Black Widow systems however use the same bearings, for the drawers, the high end model. is also made of a thicker steel, and as more options, drawer-slide, cargo barriers etc, and can hold/take more weight, have to say it does look better.

And all of the above are made in Australia, using local materials.

I know ARB have a new drawer system ( they ditched BW ) belive its made in China, as is alot of there stuff these days.....

My mate (carpenter) owed me a favour or two, so he assisted me in building a rear drawer system for my Disco 2. It is a basic construction of plywood, heavy-duty drawer runners, marine carpet and some checker-plate for finishing.
It is held down in the cargo area by turnbuckles to the existing tie down points. I also made a myself a fridge slide out of ply and shorter heavy duty runners that are bottom-mount.

For those of you making your own drawer system.

Over the years I have had problems with the rear door locking mechanism failing to work. So, as a result, am unable to open door from outside, but can open from inside.

I made my own set of drawers and the door locking problem was part of the planning.
I made my drawers just below the internal door handle, so if not able to open from outside can at least get it from inside. Dependent upon what else is packed on top. But I pack accordingly, with failure of actuator always on mind.
