we all use them here in Australia combined with hiclones, we can travel for weeks on end without filling up and we use 300tdis in the Melbourne grand prix as competitors,we always give the ferraris a good run for their money![]()
I see that Paddock offers the BritPart intercooler for about €400. They claim "This cooler air can increase engine power by up to 25bhp (subject to application)."
That's 25hp pretty cheap, if it's true. Anybody using one?
Thanks

Indeed a good price but i haven't been lucky(to be gentle) with this firm, hope a reputable company undertakes the intercooler construction for them or at least they pass a quallity control..
Look they do make a little difference, but I would not say 25hp. I have an ASE and apparently they are much better quality. They will help with EGTs and come into their own when used with a chipped ECU, which is next on my list.

I already have Hyclones installed on every wheel, and an orgone ray generator on the rear diff, natch.
My chip ECU is by the plucky Luxenlads of PSI Motorsports. I can feel the extra torque it delivers. Of course I would rather have an Allisport intercooler but there is price to consider. Are we saying here that I'd be better off saving up my ruples until I can afford that instead of the Blitpart intercooler?
We've never fitted one to be honest, but I must say that Britpart seem to have sorted out a lot of their quality issues of late. There are still a few thing we stay away from though... But the intercooler looks good quality. It will come with a 2 year warranty too. I would offer to order one in and show you in more detail, but once we've got it, we're stuck with it!
"Britpart Performance"... isn't that an oxymoron?

That was my impression indeed. But over the last two years things seem to have improved for some of their products. I've never mentioned it here on the forum yet, but I am associated with one of France's finest hardcore LR independents, here in Alsace (shameless self-advert!). We have recently started buying more parts from BritPart.
So far we have had customer satisfaction with these items. We do however still shy away from their filters, preferring instead brand-name filters from Paddock or elsewhere.
I'd be the guinea pig, as it were, when and if I buy their intercooler. But I may be stuffed as for having a choice. Allisports no longer lists the Disco td5 auto intercooler on its web site. Theirs came with a chip too, but I already have one.
