IMHO anaerobic gasket is fine, I have heard of a few people using it. I just bought the RTV sealant as that is specified. For good instructions including the locations for sealant: www.discovery2.co.uk/Oil_pump_bolt.html

You really should've put a new bolt in. There are some horror stories about re used bolts coming loose even with loctite. You are better of knowing the bolt is good I reckon. The $4 or $5 for a new bolt is good peace of mind.

Mine was tight when I checked it at 220km but I replaced it with a new one anyway.

My bolt was tight with Loctite but striped the drive out of the gear, still got oil pressure at a few revs by the friction of the bolt on the face of the gear. Close to 400000km
    cheers
