    SRS dashboard light ...

    Hi Guys

The SRS dashboard light has come on (and staying on) after hitting a pothole ... I know that I've got to wriggle the yellow connectors under the drivers seat and behind the glovebox but do I need to disconnect the battery first?
if that doesn't work what else can I try?

    Thanks

    Craig

    Thumbs up

Had my doubts about this actually working... sprayed cleaner on the connectors today..the ones under the seats and the glove box one... after seeing the SRS light on the dash for 6 months... it finally turned off... hehehe

    All good here too!
A wiggle here and a waggle there ... no more SRS light.
Does the SRS system need an overhaul after a certain time?

"officially" airbags should be replaced after 10 years, but I doubt many will ever do it, I know I wont.

UUmmm nearly every part will need replacing after ten years haha... where do you stop? Replace what breaks first, it has kept everyone busy so far..

I think the problem is that the SRS passes a small current through all the wiring to ensure its connected etc. These small currents can be disrupted by dirty connectors etc. Thats why a spray with WD-40 etc will fix it.

Ok, so failing cleaning up the yellow plugs under the drivers seat & behind the glovebox with nuns ****, what else could cause the srs light to stay on? A quick turn off & reset has worked the few times over the last 12 it's come on but is no longer doing the trick.
    Cheers in advance
    Mat
