    Chipped D2a V8 4.0L?

For a 4.0L the D2a is rather sluggish. It doesn't help that is auto - something I really don't like as I'm a manual kind of guy (will consider a conversion to manual many years (and bonuses down the road.

Does anyone have their engine chipped? Have seen this from V8 Engines --> Chip Chipping ECU Range Rover P38 Discovery 2 Thor Motronic Bosch Injection V8 | eBay

Rather pricey and worst of all you have the send the ECU which takes the truck down at least a week.

Wonder what you guys have done. Considering this together with a set of headers to get the most out of the engine without touching internals like cylinder head, cams etc.

Seems like a waste of money IMHO , same with the headers . for $$$ spent Vs power gain. you might as well save it and keep saving and drop in a 4.6 in the long run if your really after power. that's my 2 cents worth

The only tune that I have found that appears to be good value is the Haltech Interceptor piggy back ECU.

Graeme Cooper install and tune it specific to your D2, it also allows for any upgrades in the future.

So if you went a 4.6l you could simply have it retuned to suit the new engine.
