				I have a Discovery 2003 TD5 auto, 200K km, I seem to have a temp problem, but I’m not 100% sure if it’s the engine, gauge or electronics. Every now and then when driving along the temp gauge will increase above the normal half way on the gauge, reading towards the top of the gauge before the red. I pull over and with my infrared thermometer take various temp readings of the radiator hoses, bottom radiator hose around 60’c, top radiator hose near the engine around 80’c.  Worst senerio, it could be the head gasket, have it checked, it could also be oil in the injector harness.
If you can have it checked with some diagnostic tool, if you know someone with a Nanocom or someone here on the forum is nearby they could check it for you, lots of guys here are more than willing to check it for you, there is even a list of people with diagnostic gear on the forum.
