If they are to assist the coils, why do you need to remove the coils?
The fitting instructions show how to fit them into the coils while they are in place.

i never installed these before. theres a place in sydney called 4wd1 that sells'em. he told me that "the coils need to be completely removed for installation, the guy next door does it for $190.."
I just stuffed mine in through the coils.
I did have to put it on car stands then lower the suspension though.
just a bit of armorall for lube & away you go.
Mine are the Firestone Coilrites

Yup ... 'tis easy to do yourself with a decent jack and some soapy water.
Jack up from the chassis to expand the springs and squeeze 'em through ... should take a couple of hours max!
I've done it myself and I've got NO mechanical skills whatsoever! Best mod I've done.
Do it!
Can't comment on the install but the Polyairs have made a huge diference to the towing of my 2300kg van. 5psi in them with no load and 20psi with van.

IMHO it is much easier to do with the coils out on an RRC anyway.
Place a jack under the chassis and lift it a bit then place a stand in a safe position.
Remove the wheel, then jack up the axle a bit with another jack.
Undo the shock lower mount , undo the coil retainer( if there is one on the D2) .
Then lower the axle jack until you can pull out the spring. You may have to stand on the end of the axle.
Onc ethe spring is out , you get the airbag and stand on it to get all the air out, then seal it with the plug that came in the air line. It wil then slip easily inside the spring. If you need a spacer place it in the bottom.
Run your airlines to the top over the top mount making sure that the spring to stop the airline kinking is in position , and with the spring in it's mount at the bottom, place the airline onto the nipple , making sure you have also placed the spring clamp onto the airline end beforehand.
If you leave the dust caps on the airline valves the bags will remain collapsed and you can fully insert the spring and do up the retainers at the bottom easily . You then jack up the axle and replace the shock ,replace the wheel , and lower the car, then pump some air into the bags.
This is for Polyairs on an RRC but the process will be similar.

The thread from mrapocalypse showed how to do the job.
For my part I've attached a photo showing where I located the two schraeder valves behind the fuel filler flap. It wasn't my idea and think I'd seen it on this website, but it works great and they are safely out of the way.
Like philipA I took the coils off to fit my firestones airbags, but each to his own.

Peter
Thanks for that post phil.
I'll definatly be following it if i cant shove'em in the easy way.
Thanks to all for advice
