I noticed noone said anything about yokohama geolander a/t. Ive had a set on my disco for 60,000km. THey are pretty much done...but, wore evenly, never a puncture, great on road, more than capable off road.
Im about to replace them with pro comp all terrain extremes, only because i want a more aggressive tyre this time around.
I see you have chosen Pirelli, but just to add my 2c worth.....I have had Maxxis 751s for over 200k - 2 sets, now due for some new ones. I have never had a better tyre. I have had no punctures and the tyre is a good all rounder. Yes there is better tyres for a given situation, but as an all rounder, the 751s are for me, and I will only get these again even though the new 771s are supposed to be better still.

I have the 245/70/16 Latitude cross in EL version and am very happy with them, super quiet, grip is great especially wet roads. Best all round tyre I have driven on.
A 285/70/16 is a 32" tyre, or 31.7 actually. A285/75/16 is the 33" version, so diameter is ok but the width may cause issues. Have a look at a set of 265's lock to lock and check the clearance. See how much wider the 285 is and you will get an idea of where it might or might not touch, or if you need different offset rims.

Where did you find that size? I did a search and the widest I could find was a 275/70/16 in the atr. I found the 285/75/16 which is the 33".
