    D2 sliders arrived today

The sliders have arrived and I am more than happy with the quality, so here are the details.

I bought them from Rock-Sliders UK (Richmond Shot Blasting) via ebay.

I paid approx $265 for the sliders and another $390 for air freight from the UK.

Total cost approx $655 delivered for built to specification rock sliders out of 80x40x3mm RHS with 50mm tube nerf bars. The sliders also completely enclose the sills with steel plate, they are then powdercoated black.

I specified them a fair bit shorter to suit the guard cut and asked for the nerf bars to protude 150mm out from the lower door skin to sit slightly wider than the flares and give extra protection to the sides panels of the disco.

Here are some photos after unwrapping them.

You can never have too much protection....

I also forget to mention the RHS is rolled to match the curve of the doors.

They look fantastic and a nice touch to roll them for the curve too.
Will be ordering a set for myself I think. at that price it's not worth trying to make them.
Love to see some pics once you fit them up.

I am really happy with them.

They took three months to be done from placing the order though.

They are the Extra Large flares from LRA, they are fibreglass flares. I was not happy with the Flatdog flares I had as they kept distorting and stretching.

Lots of panel cutting and trimming required and I was not happy with the gloss finish so painted them with bumper primer and satin black bumper paint to get them to match the trim and snorkel on the rest of the disco.
