I also saw that one on Ebay and asked my mecanic(Paul @ Rovercare) ,he said many had failed !,I would be interested to see how the Bosch ones stand up?. If the seals are viton ,which they should be for ethanol blends, then they should be ok for diesel (and bio -diesel as I use),and the slightly lower pressure is the only thing to check out.
I wonder if the FPR's in other cars are easier to get to?

Also wonder if they fail as Regular as Td5 FPR ???

Perhaps the Bosch 4 bar unit is the answer !!!

In the EA-AU Ford Falcons the FPR is built into the fuel rail and it's still easier to change than the TD5 ones.

In saying that, the TD5 is the only motor I know of with such high failure rates...

I have yet to confirm this though.
Rave manual says 4bar, for an early model at least. So the Bosch should be no drama?

Thats even more reason to try one?, the engine will run without the fuel pump (ie. no pressure at all!) if you have at least 1/4 tank, I've done it without knowing ,only stopped when I did a quick u-ey and got air into the system (thanks Kev for towing me home), so maybe they are worth a shot?. What are they worth, and if only it was possible to change one without removing the block ffrom the engine

They do not look like the one in the picture but works great. he had a adjustable one up to 5 bar might have been fun to try it,........little bit of extra kick..........

Does anyone have an old FPR around that they can remove the regulator from and see if there are any part numbers or details on it?
My original D2A TD5 FPR has the following around its outer rim and nothing else:
    MSA 100000 131103

It is possible... If you remove the transmission and do it through there (been under my vehicle this morning fixing wiring and noticed how easy it would be to change with the transmission currently out)...
