Smile FPR leak

Fixed mine about twelve months back...
Bought a set of 'o' rings off ebay from UK ... about $10 per set (got an extra set just in case) and spent about 2 hours pulling the FPR out, replacing the 'o' rings and re-installing the FPR again. Easy job to do ... other than a couple of skinned knuckles and a few well timed expletives.
No leaks since and if it should happen again down the track, I wll know how to fix the problem again without having to outlay big bucks for overpriced items or having to utilise the services of a stealer ... I mean dealer.

see the listing here Bosch 0280160575 Fuel Pressure Regulator | eBay

Thats cheap!
They COST me $122 direct from Bosch.
I will ask them why they cost twice as much and see what they say.
BTW the list price is $195.80 according to Bosch.
thanks

Thumbs down NOT GOOD

Hello,

I had change only the MSA 100000 parts on my Defender TD5, (I bought a replacement parts on Ebay, it cost near €35), and it is easy to do it himself...

BUT, I ONLY DRIVE FOR 200 KM AND THE REPLACEMENT PART IS BREAK DOWN !!!

THIS PART ON EBAY SEEM TO BE VERY BAD ...

I Have read all your others reports about that !!! But too late for me !!!

Now, I will try for a Bosch parts 0280160575 ... but it seem it is for 'essence' cars, not 'gasoil' cars : Does it compatible ???

Cheers

Fred

I've used the €35 ebay units and have not had any trouble.
Did you also replace the gasket?

Yes, I change all gaskets... (O ring, steel gasket, ...)
The leak is comming from the hole in the cap of the pressure regulator...
This is like a geyser !!!

Thanks

Hello,
I can not see your attachment, but I brought 2 from fleabay from nadia.autoparts back in July last year only the reg itself as diesel was coming out of the the small hole like yours, no problems touch wood. Cost $70 for 2 took 3 weeks to get to Australia. He also does a 5 bar one. Better than $400 here.
