Thinking about it... I did okay without it before. Now, I'll just engage it just before I think I need it...could be a challenge.

    Cheers.

tis true also that those with no incab lever agree in the engagement once on the dirt to be suitable, but then they cannot get under to disconnect once they have been through a few puddles/bogholes.

I've always been one of the above and it's fine. Even when I had the RRC I made a manual lever for the CDL and just engaged it as soon as on the dirt. There's not much in there that'll wear that won't wear on the bitumen anyway.

    Hi ZippoParis,
What did you use to cut a larger hole in the plate so the new leaver would be able to move sideways into the diff lock position?

(I was lucky/unlucky?. I couldn't get away from work to do the job, so, my brother and his son did it for me) He used a small blade angle grinder.

    Cheers

Any tips on what is the best way to drill out the three rivets that are under the dash?

My drill was at quite an angle due to the dash so I've called it quits for the day and await any advise.

I just used a very sharp 10mm bit at a slight angle, low speed and take your time.

Once the head comes off just pop the plate... You can then pull the rest out with pliers...

be mindful the light does not always come on/off after moving the lever but usually appears after driving a little further.
If light is ON - CDL has locked

If light is OFF - CDL is unlocked

It doesn't come On or go OFF until this happens...
