    Need advice Fitting a trailer brake controller

    Hi to all just about to fit a Tekonsha P3 to my 2003 disco but having trouble finding a good spot to mount it where your knee won't get in the way or you can't see it just needing some feed back on where others have there's maybe a photo would help thanks.

    Hi

    Mounted mine above the right hand side air vent with some double sided tape ... hasn't moved in 2 years and easy to get to for adjustment on the run.

    Yes I think you are on the money I thought about there but my boost gauge was mounted in that spot so I raced out and remove it and placed it there and it looks good made for it now just got to find a new spot for the gauge thanks again.Wayne

    I fitted mine to the underside of the coin tray using two 3mm S/S set screws, nuts and washers. The front of the coin tray pops off with a little pressure allowing easy access.
    Vehicle used by self & son when towing boat, he is over 1.9m tall and position does not present a problem. Unfortunately no photographs

    Don't know if it is a problem for the pre-D3/D4 models however I was getting spurious electrical feedback from the P3 back into the D4 car harness. The problem was solved by fitting a diode in the brake light feed.

    You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    Hey mate
    I mounted mine on the upper part of the cover below the steering column on the RHS. I sometimes hit it with my right knee but only when getting in.

    Mines mounted on the opposite side (LHS) to Robbot on the cover under the steering column. I've had no issues with it, I'm 5'11". I can keep my right hand on the wheel and reach down with my left to operate no dramas...

    Mine is mounted like iPoms. No clearance issues, but can be a bit difficult to access under the dash, I tend to remove the P3 if I need access.

    Winjae...I mounted mine a bit lower than yours so that I could still access the cover retaining screws....The cover just swings down no worries...I'll take a photo in a wee while....
