Door panel removal

Thanks guy's..had a flick through TGO..there are some great ideas there, I will have another fiddle and let you know...(however in saying that the mechanism is working aok on one roller at present)..maybe I should leave well alone till the next issue

The broken roller will eventually jam in the track and buckle the arm making repair impossible
When mine went first time I fabricated a roller from some cutting board material, it didn't last too long, these must be under a fair bit of pressure to be shattering the way they do
I bought a replacement and that solved the problem (for a while anyway, but that is another story)
I would also advise to keep the rollers at least from the old one, you never know when you might need them

I have seen the rectangular sliders you speak of, apparently one of the range rover models uses sliders, not sure on that one?
I can see how they would benefit, with the contact area being greatly increased, I guess they would have to be very well fitting to prevent twisting and jamming, but the creator reported great success

I have also seen a YouTube video where a 10 pence price is soldered onto the arm, I was thinking of adapting this using some washers of the correct size either welded on or bored out to create a roller of sorts, just have not got time a the minute
