    Green Blood

    Happy New Year All!!!
This morning i went to check/top up the radiator on my td5,yes it has a slow leak out of the screw hole on the top you all no the one, when i noticed GREEN BLOOD all over the air con compressor? on further inspection the smaller hose that branchers off the top radiator hose has a small hole from rubbing on the compressor pipes, this compressor pipe also has now worn flat on one side, just wondering if this is common on the td5 or should this radiator pipe be pushed under the compressor pipes'mine sits on top.

Yep, happens to them all. I cable tied mine to the bracket used for engine removal which pulls it away from from the alloy air con tube. Do not push it under the alloy pipe. Also, you may want to consider doing a complete cooling system flush and replace it with the red OAT coolant. There are plenty of threads on here regarding coolant. Also, I used distilled water not tap water.

I was a great believer in OAT (red) coolant only in discos. But Nulon Green (and perhaps others) are a hybrid OAT (HOAT) and seem to protect just as well. So, rather than colour, quality/ chemistry of coolant needs to be considered.

That said, I'm not going to change over to HOAT in my disco, even though its in the shed and will simplify purchasing. Eg I have Honda coolant, plus Nulon red and green (plus corrosion inhibitor for an old Hilux).
