The bloke who is doing it next week is very good. He did a full new system on my d1 and muffler on my d2. He says the new ones are stronger, better flow, tucked up just as well out the way and WAY cheaper with no ceramic centre.

Can you pls post the details after it is done, with a make and part number if possible, the boys V8 exhaust will be up for replacement in the not to distant future
why not just get a 'nocat convetor' from frozen boost...

I just had new high flow cats put on as the old ones were stuffed from the old motor dying. Engine definitely has liked it, slightly better economy I think too
Plus gives a bit nicer tone to the v8.
Oh and only about 1/4 the price of the genuine LR replacements too!
You might be able to install fake cats. A guy over on discoweb still passed the tail pipe sniffer test on his 95 (that last year over here that the computer doesn't check for cats).

I'll bet a Bosch engine would run even cleaner than his old Lucas setup.
On LPG it would be cleaner than the air in Shanghai. ..
Good to hear about the high flow cats...the fella I deal with sounded excited about high flow so presumably they do make a difference.
