    Finally did it...

Well, of all the too quick too sharp drop offs I've done exploring forests and back country tracks, today I finally broke my rear bumper
Ironically, it was only today I was playing with CAD drawings of steel rear bars....
It's not "angry ex with a sledgehammer" smashed, but it's still a bit broken up.
    Am I a proper D2 offroader now?

Quite, I'd already cracked the other side jumping on it to try and replicate a clunking noise (Still haven't found it )
Basically I was going through a creek bed that I'd been able to cleanly drive through before. Front PS wheel and rear DS wheel had contact, basically see-sawed and bottomed out trying to climb out the other side.

    Will do
I'm thinking a Slunnie style one, hoping to retain the factory lights but incorporate rear recovery points/ hi-lift points. Maybe a swing away carrier too....
    Cheers

    No.

You're a D2 owner when you pre-emptively chisel off the plastic plugs and fit two gutter bolts (no nuts) in the only two holes that go throug, under the corner bits that stop then bouncing out.

Hit hard enough and the corners fall off and allow the bumper to fall off without major damage. Pick up on way out.

How about "You're a D2 owner when you apply a bit of kinetic right foot to get it back into position"
I'm not a full D2 offroader yet, I'll need to get it so bad that the lights are held on with cable ties.
    Then I'm good.

Or when you need the hi lift not only to take care of the roo wedged into the LH headlight hole but also to remove it.

Quite the same thinking here. I really want to get the spare off the door as Im sure it is the cause of dust ingress as I travel the rough roads.Im not quite sure who makes replacements have seen them though. Have to weigh cost to buy ready made v time on hand to make my own
