    Adding coil spacers

    Hi all,
After a great trip to Fraser Island a few weeks back I have decided I need a set of 25mm coil spacers under the car.
I already have a 2in lift but with the spacers and a set of 32in tyres I will get another 2inches.
I understand I will need to extend my brake lines but is there anything else I might need to do.
    Cheers, Rick.

I have added 30mm spacers to the front of my D2 on top a 2" lift to bring the front up level with the rear as it had sagged a bit with all the accessories. I think it is now about 515 or 520 mm from the rim centre hub to the guard lip. I have not needed to extend the lines and have had it all flexed up. It could not hurt for a bit if pease of mind though. It was a bit lighter in the steering and any more lift might need castor correction.

I had 30mm spacer on all 4 corners on top of 2" on my D1. I did not extend lines but bent the brackets holding the hoses a bit to give a bit more slack.
    Cheers, David.

That's a serious amount of sag, standard height according to Rave is 500mm hub to guard.
OME 2" lift is actually only 40mm anyway, then you added 30mm?
    That's 70mm lift!
That means your car should be 570 less the sag you say, so if it's only 515 or 520.....you have the wrong springs in anyway. No wonder you don't need to extend your lines.

Pretty sure that this is an illegal mod in Qld, so there's a pretty good chance that the insurance company will wipe you if there is any chance it contributed to an accident. No CTP or other insurance. Worth considering as it's a big risk.

I have read that 470mm is the standard hight. Most 2" lifts are around 30 to 40mm. I did a post comparing 2" lifts that I measured and ranged from 490 to 520mm, most just over 500mm. 570 would be some serious lift.

According to rave: front is 500mm +/- 15mm
    Rear 483 +/- 15 for coils and 473 +/- 15 for sls.

These are hub centre to guard measurements.

I see there is a difference between SLS and coils, that the confusion.
    Cheers, David.

Yeah, only the rear though......but those measurements are what the brand new ones are, not 10yrs old.........or more, but even so, at 520mm for what has been a 70mm lift, that's waaaay out.

My D2a has coils in the rear, not airbags.

Why do people KEEP SAYING THIS?

NOT ONE major manufacturer sells an advertised "2 inch lift"...

    Kings sell: Raised
OME (AR sell: Raised - and then specify the expected lift in mm, based on load.
TJM sell: Raised - and again specify a metric 'expected' lift based on load and accessories fitted.

People who keep calling these kits "2 inch lift kits" are just being ridiculous!
