Thanks joel0407, makes sense. I'll wait to see if Kelvo's power issues are nothing to worry about as I like the idea of a higher wall tyre and as you said, traction on road shouldn't be much worse. It seems to be aesthetic appeal, or practicality and hopefully very little off the mark loss. Im thinking out aloud now, but wonder if power is inhibited, would this mean more fuel to burn?

Not sure about the differance, the 235/85R16's were on it when I bought my Disco. Based on my previous 1991 200TDi Defender the first 10 meters are slower but then the turbo comes on and off the Disco goes. I'd tweeked the fuel pump & wastegate on the 200TDi, but the Disco is standard as far as I know.

If you tow you'd probably be better going with the smaller diameter tyres with a manual.

Thanks again Kelvo, your assistance is worth bottling!

I can live with 10secs lag and mine is an auto. When I get the chip done, and if it dosnt feel right, I can always change the diff gearing (plus another excuse to get the lock fitted at the same time) ;-)

I sold the boat when we moved down here (So no more towing, I loved that boat). The Brissy boys have a funny sense of humour. They get all excited when they catch something that we'd throw back as it is only a littlie, or is only good for bait. Better off letting them live and maybe replenishing the size. Definately not worth a couple of hundred bux in fuel only for a chance at something descent to eat. No offence Brissy boys, i'm almost one of you's now.... Almost ;-)
