    Radiator Leak?

    Hi Folks

Well I think my radiator is leaking. As you look at the car from the front, there is a puddle of water on the right side just near the wheel. Crawled under and there is coolant dripping from the chassis.

Took the plastic cover off the top and with the help of the torch the top of the chassis rail is wet. It seems to seal itself when hot and leak when cool if that makes sense. Is there anything else that could be leaking from that area.
    It's a V8

    Cheers Jerry

    Radiator leak

    Hi there
It's a common thing for the RH radiator cowl screw to be source of a leak the cowl is screwed into radiator and causes a leak PTFE tape on screw will fix it if not drain rad to below and fill hole for screw with epoxy mix.
    Bad design.

    Hope this helps
    Pete

Thanks, Ill check that one is it the screw visible on top?

The wet area is at the bottom and I don't see a leak from the top if that is where the screw is.

    Cheers

Hi the screw location top RH of cowl not top fan cowl but the lower cowl that goes around sides and bottom of fan.
You will need to take top cowl off to get a good look and have car running to get flow and pressure.

Okay have done that in the last of the daylight for this Sunday. Found the screw and all looks in order.

No leak from it and can not see where it's coming from. But the top of the chassis rail is damp but no coolant dripping this time. Radiator looks in good nick, odd.

Looks like its sprung a leak?

    Cheers

I've had to replace my header tank because it was cracked underneath. Could that be your problem too?
