With a TD5 it is all electronic, there is no Vacuum system as seen on the V8's.
Are you sure about this? Cruise control stopped working on my TD5, found a broken vacuum tube in the engine bay, driver's side, replaced it, cruise control worked again.

99.9% certain. Only vacuum engine system I know of on the Td5 is related to the Egr system. Also I'm quite familiar with the vacuum cruise system having had to replace and trim perished hoses periodically on my previous v8 rangie.

Have a look at the workshop manual and electronic library, the differences are pretty clear.

    Others may correct me

    Cheers

It's mainly software The CC control is part of the Td5 ECU firmware.

The vacuum hoses on the Td5 are between vacuum pump and brake booster and EGR gear.

Then I'm buggered if I know why my CC stopped and started working then! Worked perfectly since then, and that was 3 months ago.

The point of interaction was probably the brake switch. It doesn't take much more than the pedal sitting slightly lower than usual to trigger the brake lights and prevent CC operating.

    Cruise Control

I had a problem with mine ,it wouldn't work when the lights were on,even only parkers,Turned out the previous Bozo to me had put a single Filament globe in the LH stop/tail light socket,Bluddy thing always had brake light signal to cruise control.
    worth a look

I also had a similar problem. Found someone had improved the contact with a piece of rubber tubing over the brake pedel arm. It had slid down and brake light was on all the time.
Secured it with a trusty cable tie and now cruise control is good to go. I had first checked all the fuses and was working through the RAVE manual.
Thanks to all for you suggestions.
    Shaun.
