i had them on my defer..........the first trip after i removed them the front tyre kicked up a stick which dented my guard......could believe it
Hi there folks.
Hoping to probe the popular opinions of my fellow D2 owners.
One weekend soon, my mates and I are getting together for a 4WD work day, doing things like sliders, rear bars, installing some things on a couple of mates new trucks.
I've been leaning towards having some scrub rails integrated into the sliders for a while, but I'm not entirely convinced.
They look good, and given the way I drive, as well as where I drive, they seem like a good idea
So what do you guys think?
Cheers

Put them on!
you dont need them, been up this track dozens of times, a good test track hear home. No visible scratches. (being white helps)

Dark blue shows scratches horribly.
Hmm....even if I don't need them.... I kinda want them
And the way we're organising steel, the minimum amount I'd buy would be enough for both steps and rails....
Rails you defenetly do need, but if you build some scrub bars just because you think you want some, my advice, make them removable with some Fence 'end rail clamps'
they may help stop the guards getting scratched but wont help the rest of the car !
I say do it - but probably depends on where you drive
This is how I came about the attachment problem without resorting to naff fence clamps

I recall some time ago that there may have been a thread on here where someone put brush bars on their D2...but I haven't bookmarked it. Will do a search in a moment.
If you painted them black they'd blend into your blue paintwork quite well and be less obvious, unless you wanted them to be in which case I'd suggest use silver paint...![]()
