Yep, they are very good extra storage too. Only thing I dislike is that they encroach upon knee room for me.
I ordered a pair of genuine cup holders together with a pile of other parts from Rimmer bros and installed them today. It was about an half an hour job and the result is pretty awesome I think.
The instructions were probably a bit too detailed, telling me to measure 42mm and 33mm distances from the high range/low range stick. I just made sure I had two holes approximately lined up and then used the cup holders as guides to drill the other holes.
It was about $65 for the pair so not exactly cheap but it looks pretty slick and it surely beats the floppy standard cup holders.

I got mine from Rimmer Bros: Holder - Cup - Pair - Genuine Land Rover at www.rimmerbros.co.uk
$65 plus postage, but since I ordered heaps of stuff anyway it didn't add anything to the postage cost for me.
I've just come inside after installing a set of these cup holders (obtained from Gary at CLR 4WD in Winmalee). The location of the hole for the bottom mounting screw is supposed to line up with a thin section in the console plastic, in order for the metal clip to slip in easily. In my experience the clip needs to be bent open until the two sides are parallel so that it will easily fit in the correct position. If the hole isn't in the correct position and the plastic at that spot is thicker, the clip will fit if it is opened up even more (guess who missed drilling in the correct spot?). I agree that the best way to drill is to drill the top two holes, then hold the cup holder base in position as a template to drill the bottom hole. To get the clip on, a large screwdriver can be inserted under the plastic console and used to lever it out until the clip will slip up into position.
It's going to be good to have a proper cup holder.
My large Maccas cup always changes the radio Station. Might be worth it once everything else is sorted.
