    GT2256V on a TD5?

    Hey,

I have a VNT on my TD5, but most disturbingly, the actuator and lever have "flogged out" in under 20000km. I can repair it...but its an excuse to look for something else.

Has anyone tried the GT2256V from the TDv6?

    Hamish

thought about the GT2052V as fitted to the 3L patrol among others? Since the original D2 turbo is a GT2052S it may be a simple swap.
    Maybe...mm food for thought...

    Hey Tombie,

Maybe I should speak to the rep I bought it off...that would be you!
Ah, warranty. May have only been 20k km, but it was, what 3yrs ago?
Don't think the warranty was that good.

The actuator lever on the exhaust housing, the lever that moves the vanes, it has flogged out in the housing and is flopping around everywhere. This in turn has flogged out the eyelet on the rod connected to the boost actuator.

Took it to a local place for repair (Eastern Turbo in Melbourne)....had to replace the exhaust housing, cost almost but not quite as much as a new turbo.

Yes and there is a thread on this forum about it. I'll see if I can find it.

With the different flanges and that, it seems easier to just use on of the two direct bolt on VNT upgrades from Turbo Technics ( Turbo Technics - these are the guys who supply people like BAS etc.) or a larger turbo from Alive Tuning ( Hybrid Turbo for Td5 ).

You've probably already got a GT2256V. Measure the wheels and check.
