The D2 system, especially with a well serviced braking system and CDL is a very good bit of kit. So...I would like to hear from other users first. I have a D2a with cdl and T/C and am about to put air lockers in from my old D1 . Why because i want the positive locking with choice ! And that is my opinion , I have had a Defender extreme with T/C It worked well but not as good as air lockers but if i kept it i would have giving it the air locker treatmeant . At the end of the day the choice will $ orientated or not if not spend your money wisley once with the correct decision and be happy with your decision

clubagreenie has an ATB fitted to the rear diff of his D2, so you might want to take note of his comments above.

There is also a 4 page thread on the effectiveness of the ATB on D2's from last year:

    http://www.aulro.com/afvb/discovery-...croft-atb.html

There are a several members who comment in that thread on their experiences with ATB equipped D2s.

    cheers

Air lockers negate the TC, and are a lot harsher on driveline. The CDL is only one aspect of improving traction. The TC negates the need to think about manually controlling ATB activation with the left foot braking.

I ordered the Detroit True Track from GBR just for the fact that my front diff after 230k is probably pretty worn so now have a stronger one in there and off road probably won't harm.

D2 diff centres same as D2?

G'day Guy's, can someone confirm if the Truetrack for the D2's (front and rear) are the same as the D1? All the sites list the same part number? and the Australian suppler only list them for Discovery up to 2000 model??? Confused!
    Thanks in advance!
